An Unusually Smooth Surface on Saturn's Calypso

NASA APOD
COSMIC MESSAGE

Saturn's moon Calypso is only 20 kilometers long, an irregular shape, and yet unusually smooth. The Cassini spacecraft, orbiting Saturn since 2004, took this image during its closest pass to the tiny moon. We still don't know why Calypso, along with its sister moon Telesto, lacks the craters seen on most other moons.
