Each August, Earth passes through dust from comet Swift-Tuttle, causing the Perseid Meteor Shower. This year, light from a nearly full Moon masked all but the brightest meteors. Still, Perseid meteors were visible in the days around the peak. This image captures a Perseid meteor alongside the moonlit castle.
