The Cocoon Nebula, IC 5146, is a star-forming region in Cygnus. This infrared image from the Herschel Space Observatory shows the nebula in blue hues. The image captures wavelengths more than 100 times longer than visible red light. It reveals the dusty region at the end of a long, dark nebula.
