As Above, So Below

This long exposure captures star trails above a colorful sea of clouds, as seen from Medvednica mountain in Croatia. The surrounding peaks and city lights illuminate the clouds from below. The North Celestial Pole is off the upper right edge of the frame, around which the star trails arc. This detailed skyscape was recorded using color slide film in a medium format camera, not a digital one.
