Eclipsed Moon in the Morning
NASA APOD · Roger N. Clark
COSMIC MESSAGE
December's lunar eclipse graced early morning skies over the Rocky Mountains. This wintry scene shows the Moon in a cold blue twilight sky near the western horizon. The reddened lunar disk is almost completely immersed in Earth's dark shadow. The image was captured about 22 minutes before sunrise, above the snowy North American Continental Divide.
