COSMIC MESSAGE

NGC 6188, an emission nebula in the southern constellation Ara, features fantastic shapes within its glowing hydrogen gas. About 4,000 light-years away, it's near the edge of a large molecular cloud. Young, massive stars from the Ara OB1 association, formed only a few million years ago, sculpt these dark shapes and power the nebula's glow.
