COSMIC MESSAGE
Comet C/2022 E3 (ZTF) is captured in this telescopic image from June Lake, California. This view was recorded on January 23, close to when Earth crossed the comet's orbital plane. The comet's broad, whitish dust tail is curved and fanned out away from the Sun. Comet ZTF has been growing brighter as it approaches its closest point to Earth on February 1.
