COSMIC MESSAGE
Some auroras are so faint they can only be seen with a camera, called subvisual auroras. While the green aurora in this image were visible to the eye, the red aurora only appeared after a 20-second camera exposure. This difference is because cameras can accumulate light over a longer period than the human eye.
