NASA APOD · Martin Pugh
COSMIC MESSAGE

NGC 1097 is a spiral galaxy about 45 million light-years away in the constellation Fornax. Its blue spiral arms contain pinkish star-forming regions. This deep exposure from a ground-based telescope hints at faint, mysterious jets extending from its core. These jets are a peculiar feature of this galaxy.
