Warped Sky: Star Trails over Arches National Park

NASA APOD · Vincent Brady
COSMIC MESSAGE

This image is a two-and-a-half-hour exposure of the night sky over Arches National Park, resulting in prominent star trails. The picture is also a full 360-degree panorama, horizontally compressed. As Earth rotated, stars appeared to circle both the North Celestial Pole on the left and the South Celestial Pole on the right, creating a warped effect.
