COSMIC MESSAGE
Abell 36 is a planetary nebula, the glowing gas shroud of a dying sun-like star. It lies about 800 light-years away in the constellation Virgo and spans over 1.5 light-years. The central star, contracting and heating up, has a surface temperature over 73,000 Kelvin, much hotter than our Sun's 6,000 Kelvin.
