COSMIC MESSAGE
While observing a partial solar eclipse, an astronomer captured this rare display of iridescence in a cloud. The phenomenon occurs when sunlight diffracts around uniformly sized water droplets in a thin cloud. Different colors of sunlight bend at slightly different angles, creating a spectrum of colors. This effect, often seen as part of a solar corona, offered an unexpected spectacle during the eclipse in Colorado.
