COSMIC MESSAGE

New images from the New Horizons spacecraft reveal the strange surface of Pluto. This image, taken two days before closest approach, shows the side of Pluto that always faces its largest moon, Charon. A dark belt near the equator is particularly noteworthy, and scientists are still working to understand its features. Pluto's surface is proving to be full of unexpected details.
