On some nights, asteroid dust rains down on Earth as meteors. This image, taken during the Perseids meteor shower, shows multiple streaks over Four Girls Mountain in central China. The bright Pleiades open star cluster is also visible towards the upper part of the image. The annual Geminids meteor shower is also known for its bright meteors.
