COSMIC MESSAGE

The Big Dipper hangs over the Canadian Rockies, with a greenish airglow visible in the atmosphere. This airglow comes from oxygen atoms in the upper atmosphere. The photo was taken in Banff National Park, using two exposures to capture both the stars and the foreground.
