COSMIC MESSAGE

This image shows a visual pairing of the dusty reflection nebula NGC 7129 on the right and the open star cluster NGC 7142 on the left, in the constellation Cepheus. While they appear close, NGC 7129 is about 3,000 light-years distant, and NGC 7142 is likely over 6,000 light-years away. Pervasive foreground dust clouds in this region make it difficult to determine the exact distances of objects.
