The sky on
your birthday.
“Starlink Satellite Trails over Brazil” is copyrighted by Egon Filter. NASA has permission to show it and we don't, so it isn't on this card.
See it on NASA's siteThese streaks across the sky are sunlight reflecting off Starlink satellites. SpaceX launched 60 of these communication satellites in May and another 60 in November. Thousands more are planned by various companies in the coming years. Many astronomers are concerned about how these reflections will affect future observations of space.
The Sun on 10 December 2019
NASA SDO took this picture on 10 December 2019, the day itself, not a release date.
We cannot put this date's photograph on paper at poster size. We can print the nearest public archive plate to your date instead.
Prints are coming soon. The card is free to save and share in the meantime.
