Palomar 6: Globular Star Cluster
Palomar 6 is one of about 200 globular star clusters in the Milky Way Galaxy. This spherical ball of approximately 500,000 stars is estimated to be 12.5 billion years old. Its extreme age helps astronomers constrain the age of the universe itself. Palomar 6 is located about 25,000 light-years away from Earth.
