NGC 2403 is a spiral galaxy about 10 million light-years distant in the constellation Camelopardalis. It spans about 50,000 light-years. The galaxy has many giant star-forming HII regions, which glow reddish from atomic hydrogen gas. These regions are energized by clusters of hot, massive stars.
