Xuyi Station and the Fireball

This single exposure from Purple Mountain Observatory’s Xuyi Station captured a bright fireball meteor during the 2020 Perseid shower. The dome in the foreground houses the China Near Earth Object Survey Telescope, the largest multi-purpose Schmidt telescope in China. The station is located in Xuyi County, Jiangsu Province.
