In Green Company: Aurora over Norway
The Northern Lights glow green over the Lofoten Islands in Norway. Auroras are caused by charged particles from the Sun hitting Earth's atmosphere. This display was captured after two cloudy nights, when the sky finally cleared. The photo is a composite of three separate exposures, showing the aurora's spectacular detail.
