NASA APOD
COSMIC MESSAGE

The Egg Nebula, also known as CRL 2688, is a protoplanetary nebula about 3,000 light-years away. This Hubble Space Telescope image shows its distinctive searchlight beams. A dense dust cocoon surrounds the central aging star, blocking direct view. Light escapes through gaps, illuminating the expanding gas and dust.
