Sagittarius Dwarf to Collide with Milky Way
NASA APOD
COSMIC MESSAGE
Our galaxy is being invaded. The Sagittarius Dwarf galaxy, shown as an irregular shape below the Galactic Center, will pass through the disk of the Milky Way again in the next 100 million years. It is the closest of nine known dwarf spheroidal galaxies orbiting our own. Our galaxy is safe, but the Sagittarius Dwarf will be stretched and pulled by the Milky Way's gravity.
