Mars has two tiny moons, Phobos and Deimos. This image shows Deimos, the smaller of the two, measuring only nine miles across. Deimos is one of the smallest known moons in the Solar System. Both Martian moons were discovered in 1877 by American astronomer Asaph Hall.
