Spinning Black Holes and MCG-6-30-15

NASA APOD
COSMIC MESSAGE

The core of galaxy MCG-6-30-15 is incredibly bright in X-ray light, as observed by the XMM-Newton satellite. Some astronomers believe this brightness comes from a massive spinning black hole. If true, it would be the first direct evidence of tapping a black hole's rotational energy.
