This high-resolution map of microwave light was emitted just 380,000 years after the Big Bang. It was created by the Wilkinson Microwave Anisotropy Probe, or WMAP. Analysis of this all-sky image provides precise measurements of our universe, indicating it is 13.7 billion years old and composed of 73 percent dark energy, 23 percent dark matter, and 4 percent atoms.
