A Sharper View of a Tilted Planet
NASA APOD
COSMIC MESSAGE
These sharp views of Uranus show dramatic details of the planet's atmosphere and ring system. The images were made using a near-infrared camera and the Keck Adaptive Optics system, which reduces the blurring effects of Earth's atmosphere. Captured in July, the pictures show two sides of Uranus. High, white cloud features are mostly in the northern hemisphere, with medium-level cloud bands appearing in green.
