COSMIC MESSAGE

Mira, or Omicron Ceti, was known to 17th-century astronomers as a 'wonderful star' due to its dramatic changes in brightness. This red giant star is about 700 times the diameter of our Sun and pulsates over an 11-month cycle. Located 420 light-years away, Mira A orbits with a companion, Mira B, a white dwarf surrounded by a disk of material.
