NGC 2359: Thor's Helmet

NASA APOD
COSMIC MESSAGE

Thor's Helmet, or NGC 2359, is a bubble of gas over 30 light-years across, blown by the fierce winds of a Wolf-Rayet star at its center. These rare, massive blue giants create stellar winds that sculpt the surrounding cosmic dust and gas. The nebula's distinctive winged shape gives it its popular name, sitting far away in our galaxy.
