Many stars form in clusters, and this image shows two examples in the constellation Puppis. M46, in the upper left, is a younger cluster about 300 million years old, with hundreds of stars across 30 light-years, 5,400 light-years away. M47, in the lower right, is 80 million years old and 1,600 light-years distant.
