Hidden Galaxy IC 342

COSMIC MESSAGE
IC 342 is a sprawling spiral galaxy, similar in size to other large, bright spirals. It lies about 7 million light-years away in the constellation Camelopardalis. This galaxy would be prominent in our night sky, but it is almost hidden behind the veil of stars, gas, and dust in the plane of our Milky Way galaxy. This sharp telescopic image traces its own star clusters and dust lanes.
