This mosaic of images from the NEAR Shoemaker spacecraft reveals a world of undulating horizons, craters, boulders, and valleys. Eros is a small, irregularly shaped asteroid, about 40 by 14 by 14 kilometers, orbiting the Sun every 1.8 Earth years.
