Long Stem Rosette

COSMIC MESSAGE

The Rosette Nebula, also known as NGC 2237, is a cosmic cloud of gas and dust. It sits at the edge of a large molecular cloud in Monoceros, about 5,000 light-years away. The petals of this rose are glowing hydrogen gas. This view shows a long stem of that gas, making it a fitting image for Valentine's Day.
