Mount Damavand, a snow-capped stratovolcano, anchors the left of this panoramic view of the night sky over the Alborz Mountains. The Big Dipper is visible to the left of Damavand's peak. The arch of the Milky Way Galaxy sweeps across the sky above the mountain range. Bright stars Deneb and Altair are near the center of the panorama, recorded in the predawn hours of April 4.
