The Cassini spacecraft imaged Saturn's South Pole in infrared light to study the clouds beneath it. Thick clouds appear dark as they block infrared light from warmer regions below. The image reveals bands of clouds, dark swirling storm systems, and a haze in the upper atmosphere.
