Unusual Red Glow Over Minnesota
NASA APOD · Tyler Blessing
COSMIC MESSAGE
In 2002, a passenger landing in Minneapolis, Minnesota, photographed these unusual red sheets of light extending from cloud to ground. Unlike more common atmospheric phenomena, these glowing curves remain a bit of a mystery. One leading possibility is that they are reflections of stadium lights on the clouds.
