Nobels for a Strange Universe

Thirteen years ago, results first indicated that most of the energy in our universe is not in stars or galaxies. Instead, it is tied to space itself. Cosmologists call this a large cosmological constant, directly implied by new distant supernova observations. Suggestions of a cosmological constant have existed since modern relativistic cosmology, but were not usually popular with astronomers.
