COSMIC MESSAGE
The Geminid meteor shower radiates from the constellation Gemini. This image, a blend of 30 twenty-second exposures, captures the shower's peak in 2012. It was taken from the dark skies of the Atacama Desert in Chile, above ESO's Paranal Observatory. The foreground shows the observatory's telescopes under a sky full of shooting stars.
