COSMIC MESSAGE
The Moon's terminator, the line between light and dark, makes craters and mountains stand out. Near this line, the Sun is low on the horizon, casting long shadows. These shadows give us depth cues, making a two-dimensional image appear three-dimensional. It helps us discern the lunar surface's structure more easily.
