“Bright Comet SOHO” is copyrighted by Michael Horn. NASA has permission to show it and we don't, so it isn't on this card.
See it on NASA's siteComet SOHO, discovered this month by an orbiting solar observatory, has emerged from the Sun's glare. This telephoto picture shows the new naked-eye comet after sunset in the western twilight above Lake Samsonvale, Australia. The comet is in the constellation Orion, with its long tail stretching nearly 5 degrees towards the bright star Bellatrix. For Southern Hemisphere observers, the comet is visible in the evening sky.
