Meteor between the Clouds
NASA APOD · Victor van Wulfen
COSMIC MESSAGE
A bright meteor, likely part of the Leonid shower, streaked across the dark skies above Sutherland, South Africa. It was captured by chance between two clouds. These are not just any clouds, but the Large and Small Magellanic Clouds, satellite galaxies of our own Milky Way, visible in the southern hemisphere.
