The Moon was almost entirely immersed in Earth's dark umbral shadow during a partial lunar eclipse. This telephoto snapshot, taken over Cancun, Mexico, shows the dimmed but reddened light in Earth's shadow. The eclipsed Moon was wandering through the constellation Taurus.
