In 1984, astronaut Dale A. Gardner, using a Manned Maneuvering Unit, captured the Westar 6 satellite high above Earth. This was the second satellite captured on that mission. The satellite had failed to reach its intended geostationary orbit. This image shows Gardner attaching a control device to the rotating satellite.
