The Elusive Jellyfish Nebula

NASA APOD · Dieter Willasch
COSMIC MESSAGE

The Jellyfish Nebula, IC 443, is what's left of a star that exploded more than 30,000 years ago. It sits in Gemini, near the star Eta Geminorum, and its expanding debris cloud glows brightly. This telescopic view captures the faint, tendrilled nebula. Like a cosmic jellyfish, it drifts through space.
