Perseids over the Pyrénées

This panorama captures Perseid meteors streaking across the night sky above the French Pyrenees. Taken an hour before moonrise, the image shows a misty valley and the lights of a ski station. The Perseid meteor shower occurs annually as Earth passes through dust left by Comet Swift-Tuttle.
