Unusual Mountain Ahuna Mons on Asteroid Ceres
NASA APOD
COSMIC MESSAGE
Ahuna Mons is the largest mountain on Ceres, the largest known asteroid in our Solar System. Its slopes are adorned with young vertical streaks, not old craters. One hypothesis suggests Ahuna Mons is an ice volcano that formed shortly after a large impact on the opposite side of the dwarf planet. The mountain is roughly 5 kilometers high and 15 kilometers wide.
